Ground School Examiner

Worried about taking the exams? I had heard so many fellow SPLs complaining about the JAR multiple choice system but I had a secret weapon - "Groundschool Examiner".

As a former long time PPL re-taking PPL ground school I was constantly amazed at how much I had forgotten since last flying in the early 80's. How was I going to deal with the added pressure from other students? "Ah but you've done it all before!"

I started trawling the net, found TeachMe Interactive and ordered the "PPL Exam Tutor" and "Ground School Examiner". Shortly after starting studying in earnest I began taking the "Groundschool" tests on my PC and I was not surprised to find that I was not making the grade.

One thing that did surprise me was that even after careful reading I was still failing to correctly answer questions that I should have known. It became clear to me that there is a technique to reading and answering the multiple choice question that differs from the old system. There are no 99% right answers with the multiple choice system - it is either 100% right or 100% wrong and repeatedly taking the tests sharpens your skill in reading precisely what the examiner wants.

However, after repeating the random tests a few times I found that my score was rising steadily, point by point, until after a few weeks I was passing every time. This was easy to see as the system can keep records of the time and outcome of all tests. Any areas that I scored badly on I simply revised using the Exam Tutor.

I was doing the test in about half the allotted time and racing against the "real time" results on-screen which show the number of questions taken, current score and time taken - you can even pause the test to answer the phone or make a cup of coffee!

Before I did the real exams I was telling other students about the system, so impressed was I with my steadily improving performance. However I was absolutely delighted when I comfortably passed all the tests at the first attempt and I have absolutely no doubt that Groundschool Examiner was the secret of my success.

As someone with a heavy schedule who is trying to obtain his PPL as cheaply
and quickly as possible (like most of us), I find your product very cost and
time effective when stacked up against 'starter packs', ground schools and
the like.

It allows me to study when I want without formal lessons and I have passed
my first ground exam, Aviation Law, with 94% which I completed in 15
minutes.

The flying school owner, where I took the exam, stated that this is a
particularly high mark as it is a difficult subject and most people scrape
through with a basic pass mark.

I think the ease of passing is mainly attributable to the software's combination of text written in plain English with excellent graphics and sometimes even animation. Making the whole package a lot more interesting to complete than a pile of books.

Your software is going a long way to helping me accomplish an ambition I
