About the tutorsWe have six tutors all of whom are very experienced RYA professionals. Rob Marsh - School Principle
As the Shore-based correspondence course Principal, Rob will be responsible for all student tutorial support, feedback and exam marking as well as liaison with the RYA to maintain up-to-date and accurate software content. Robs many maritime qualifications include:
If that was not enough, Rob has lectured at the Falmouth Centre for Marine Studies (at BSc and BTEC ND levels) on Marine Engines, Navigation & Seamanship, Navigation Theory & Practice and the construction of Marine Craft. His RYA practical teaching experience includes Navigation, Diesel Engines, VHF radio, sailing and boat handling and survival at sea. He has worked within the sailing industry full time for the last 15 years and has been a sailing enthusiast for over thirty years.
Before becoming a full time instructor, Bob worked for 25 years in the professional communications and radar industry for - Thorn EMI, Plessey, GEC and Siemens. Bob has a technical background in radio and radar systems and holds a full UK amateur radio licence. |
